Registered Nurse – Long Term Care

Location: Medford, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in a skilled nursing facility with focus on long term care.
• Float between Short Term, Long Term, and CBRF (Community-Based Residential Facility) units as needed.
• Work variable shifts including day, PM, and night shifts; 8- and 12-hour shifts available.
• Scheduled to work every other weekend and holidays.
• No on-call or call-back requirements, except possible low census on-call hours with call-back pay if called in.

Unit Details

• Unit 1: 12 beds for short term residents (average census 5-8) plus 10 CBRF residents.
• Unit 2: Long Term Care unit with 20 beds.
• Typical staffing per shift (day and PM): 3 aides and 2 nurses.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Wisconsin RN license.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• 2 years of Long Term Care experience.
• Long Term Care experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience in a Long Term Care setting.

Additional Information

• Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility.
• Charting system ECS experience not required; training provided.
• Scrubs must be clean and appropriate for work.
• Contract includes eligibility for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours.
• During flu season, flu and COVID vaccination is required or traveler must wear a mask at all times per facility policy; non-compliance may result in corrective action.
