Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Outpatient

Location: Bethel, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday
Hours per Week: 32

Job Summary

• Provide quality nursing care to patients of all ages, from birth to elderly.
• Serve as a member of the nursing staff within the scope of practice.
• Collaborate with Health Aides to ensure rooms are stocked and checklists completed.
• Assist in ordering medical supplies as needed.
• Screen calls over the phone and assist mid-level providers in the clinic after hours (not first responder call).
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in patient care.
• Support the mission of the healthcare organization.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
• Licensed as an LPN in the State of Alaska in good standing.
• Current CPR certification (BCLS) required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• IV certification course preferred.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and psychiatric patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a patient care setting.

Experience

• New graduates accepted.
• Preferred: 1 year hospital experience.

Additional Information

• Orientation starts on a Tuesday; guaranteed hours may not apply during the first week if 40 hours/week is guaranteed.
• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations is required for all travelers.
