Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

36-hour rotating shifts (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night: 7:15 PM - 7:15 AM)
Rotation based on unit needs; not guaranteed
Every other weekend and rotating holidays required
Labor and Delivery experience is required

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Submission Requirements

Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
Two references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the skillset
Skills checklist completed within 1 year
Candidate submission coversheet (current version)

Onboarding Requirements

License/certificate primary source verification within 30 days of start date
BLS, NRP, EFM certifications verified
TB test, fit test, respirator clearance, health statement, and criminal background checks completed and uploaded
Medication exam with 80% passing score within 365 days
Self-study orientation and attestation specific to the facility
Confirmation of assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for any start date changes

Additional Notes

Prior travel experience is not specified as required
Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity is strongly preferred but optional
Tdap vaccination within 10 years is preferred but optional
Positive TB test requires negative chest x-ray documentation (optional)
Name change documentation required if legal name differs from credential documentation

This position requires a dedicated Labor and Delivery RN comfortable with rotating shifts and weekend/holiday coverage, meeting all licensure, certification, and health compliance standards.
