Job Description

• Position in a medical/surgical unit.
• Facility is part of a large hospital system in Wichita, KS.

Required Credentials & Certifications

Licenses & Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
• Nursys Verification: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start. Disciplinary actions require additional documentation.
• License/Certificate Verification: Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
• NIH Certification: Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F updated every 2 years.
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training: Required.
• Ascension Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly with a minimum 80% score.
• Ascension EKG Exam: Must pass with at least 80%, two attempts allowed.
• Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Required.

Personal Health History & Immunizations

• Ascension Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite. Updated annually.
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
• Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray & Annual TB Questionnaire: Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within a year, and complete TB questionnaire annually.
• 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required within 1 year and 30 days prior to start.
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
• Tdap: Valid for 10 years; no declinations accepted.
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually. Must include all 12 drugs tested with MRO review if applicable.

Professional Requirements

• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation: Must be completed and uploaded prior to start.
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Completed onsite prior to start.
• Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
• Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
• Driver's License/State ID: Must be current, match address on file, and comply with compact license rules.
• Ascension Profile (Resume): Required for submission.
• Ascension 2 Professional References: At least two professional references required prior to first assignment.
• Ascension Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually or after break in service >90 days.
• Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System): Run within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service >90 days.
• Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
• Ascension Education Verification: Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; updated if break in service >90 days.
• Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with extensions.
• Ascension Employment Verification: Third-party employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service >90 days.
