Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical AM Shift

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Completion of UCH ECG Exam
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with adult patients
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Experience managing patient staffing ratios of 1:4-6
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Fit Test: Annual N95 or PAPR fit test required for direct patient care, completed onsite or offsite within one week prior to start
• Immunizations and Tests:

  • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer required before starting; second dose must be submitted within 30 days if starting with first dose
  • Varicella: Same requirements as MMR
  • Hepatitis B: Series of 3 vaccinations, positive titer, or declination accepted; booster or declination accepted if negative/equivocal
  • TB Test: Completed within 30 days prior to start; includes QuantiFERON/T-Spot or 2-step skin test, or chest X-ray if past positive
• Physical/Health Statement: Must be current within 1 year
• Drug Screen: 9-panel drug screen completed within 90 days prior to start; must be repeated with any break in service
• Influenza Vaccine: Optional but recommended; required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) with exemptions considered case-by-case

Onboarding and Testing Requirements

• Criminal Background Check: Completed within 90 days prior to start; includes 7-year county and national checks, SSN trace, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions
• Education Verification: Highest level of education verified via third party or transcripts
• Badge Photo: Recent (within 6 months) color photo with solid background, no filters or selfies
• Skills Checklist: Current and accurate checklist completed within 12 months prior to start, matching the position’s required skills
• ECG Exam: Completion of ECG exam with certificate upload required before onboarding
• Internal Competency Checklist: To be uploaded during onboarding; must be completed within 2 weeks of start date or removal from assignment may occur
• Annual Compliance Training: Completion certificate required before onboarding; valid through 11/5/26
• I-9 E-Verify: Employment eligibility attestation required
