Labor and Delivery Nurse

Assignment Details

• Travel/contract role
• Start date: September 28, with possible earlier review for September 21
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours
• Hours per week: 36
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend
• Block scheduling: Case-by-case manager review
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Radius restriction: None

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Experience

• Previous charge experience preferred

Clinical Skills / Experience

• Assist with sterile speculum exam
• NST
• Reflex checks
• Sterile vaginal exam
• EFM
• External fetal monitoring
• IVs and medication administration
• High-risk and vaginal delivery
• Forceps/vacuum deliveries
• C-sections
• Neonatal care
• Newborn care
• Pain management
• Postpartum care
• Surgical cases, including cervical cerclage

Additional Notes

• Critical access setting
• Candidate should be able to jump in after the second shift
• EMR familiarity with Centricity is preferred
