Registered Nurse — MS/Tele

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Self-scheduling
• Every other weekend
• No call
• May float to the main campus
• Must be able to work holidays
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• Local candidates accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Clinical Experience / Skills

• Med/surg and telemetry nursing
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Rapid response/code team support
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draws, PICC management, peripheral IV care, and phlebotomy
• IV starts and maintenance
• Heparin, insulin, and PCA administration
• Chest tube management
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Oral suctioning and oxygen administration
• Isolation precautions and wound care
• Care for bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy, feeding tubes, hemodialysis, renal failure, and wound vacs

Preferred

• Charge experience
• ACLS
• Telemetry monitoring experience
• Post-angiogram, post-cardiac surgery, and post-MI experience
• IV insulin protocols
• Bariatric surgery
• Continuous bladder irrigation
• Port access/management
• CVA, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, ABG interpretation, pre/post thoracic surgery, and tracheostomy care
• Electronic documentation
• Community hospital experience

Additional Notes

• RTO limit: 7 days per contract
• Navy blue or white scrubs
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Medication system: Pyxis
