SICU Travel Nurse

Location

New Orleans, Louisiana

Schedule

Day shift
3x12 hours
6:45 to 19:15
36 hours per week
No block scheduling requests

Assignment Details

High-acuity ICU
Patient ratio: 1:2
Float to other ICUs and SDUs
May be assigned to an emergency team during emergency events and may be expected to remain at the facility until the event passes or serve on the relief team

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with PA catheters
Experience with balloon pumps (IABP)
Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Experience with Epic
Competency exam completed within 1 year of start and scored at least 80%
Skills checklist
Resume/application
7 years of employment history, if applicable, with explanation for gaps

Preferred Experience

Experience with pulmonary artery catheters and balloon pumps

Clinical Experience

CVICU skills: post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, PA catheter
SICU skills: general post-op surgical recovery
Transplant recovery experience: liver, heart, lungs, kidney, pancreas
Continuous renal replacement therapy experience

EPLS/GSA/SAM screening
HHS/OIG screening
Sex offender search
Education verification
Transcript or diploma if verification cannot be completed
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit testing within 1 year of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start
Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
Tdap
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
Flu vaccination, declination, or approved exemption during flu season
CLEAR enrollment for identity verification
