ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW), includes holidays
Float: Possible float to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Cardiac Progressive Unit (CPU)

Job Description

• Provide critical care nursing in ICU setting
• Must be proficient with ventilators, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, telemetry, pulmonary artery (PA) lines, balloon pumps, IV starts, and Swan-Ganz catheters
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner/Soarian
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)
• Minimal to no Return to Origin (RTO) allowed; must be included on submission
• No travel pairs accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Proficient in ventilator (Vents) management
• Experience with intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
• Skilled in pulmonary artery (PA) line care
• Knowledgeable in balloon pump management
• Experienced with Swan-Ganz catheter management

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Submission must include: references, skills checklist, updated NURSYS verification, and proof of driver’s license within a 50-mile radius of assignment location (candidates living 30 miles or less from assignment will not be considered)
• Two recent supervisor/manager level references required (charge RN references accepted but not preferred)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and national databases
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted); if past positive, chest X-ray within 2 years and TB questionnaire within 30 days required
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination accepted)
• Annual flu vaccination required during flu season (September 3 – March 31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is provided
• Fit test for masks completed onsite at no cost
• Facility-specific HealthStream training modules must be completed prior to start date
• Time-sensitive photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no selfies) required within 24 hours of signing contract
• Facility-specific forms (IS115 and IS119) must be completed and signed with full legal name and address prior to start
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required

Additional Notes

• Start date is approximately 3 weeks from offer acceptance
• Candidates must be able to work night shifts and float as needed
• No travel pairs allowed for this assignment
• Royal Blue scrubs are mandatory but not provided by the facility
