MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Riverview, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience & Skills

• MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients
• Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Skills required:

  • IV starts
  • Contrast administration
  • Biopsy procedures
  • Imaging of patients with pacemakers/defibrillators (pacemaker skills)
• Experience with Cerner EMR

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current, valid MRI Tech license for Florida (primary source verification required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
• Advanced MR certification: ARRT or ARMRIT certification(s) required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Driver’s license required and must remain current throughout assignment
• Background check within 1 year, including:

  • 7-year residential/work/school history
  • SS Trace
  • County searches
  • Nationwide search
  • Sex offender registry
  • Education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education was completed outside the US or Puerto Rico
• Education verification required for all candidates
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire required if prior positive PPD
• Annual TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test
• Standard 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use is required

Facility & Documentation Requirements

• Photo for badge: clear, professional, solid background, no filters or cropped images
• Dress code and tobacco policy acknowledgment required
• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
• BayCare Health MSP - AHCA Privacy Policy, Affidavit, and Demographic Information Sheet required for all candidates
• Hurricane exemption survey required if assignment falls between June 1 and November 30
• References: 2 professional references from within the past 2 years required
• Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted and available for facility review

• Candidates must complete competency exams as applicable, including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for applicable units (not specifically for MRI Tech)
• Stroke education CEUs and other certifications listed are not applicable to this role unless otherwise specified

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, comfortable working weekends and on-call shifts, and skilled in advanced MRI procedures including cardiac imaging and working with patients who have pacemakers or defibrillators. Candidates must be fully licensed in Florida and meet all health and background compliance requirements.
