Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry (Night Shift)
Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Average Patient Ratio: 1:5-6 (days, nights, weekends)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Guaranteed Hours: Yes
Job Description
- Care for pulmonary ventilated patients and those undergoing ventilator weaning.
- Must have experience with tracheostomy care.
- Ability to manage up to 5 non-ventilated patients as needed.
- Floating between related units within scope of practice is expected and may occur frequently.
- First-time travel nurses are accepted.
- Locals are not accepted.
- Pending license accepted but must be active prior to start date.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut.
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Experience with tracheostomy care.
- Experience with ventilator management.
Special Requirements
- Must have ventilator and tracheostomy experience.
- Ability to float frequently between related units.
- Must be able to work every other weekend.
- No on-call required.
- Pending license accepted but must be active before start.

- Total staffed beds: 1,567.
- Charting system: Epic.
- Scrub color: Royal blue.
- Parking cost: $125/month.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must provide photo ID matching legal name on first day.
- Foreign-educated candidates must provide foreign equivalency report and diploma.
- Candidates must complete various mandatory training modules and attestations prior to or shortly after start.
- EPIC testing is encouraged for those with prior experience; onsite training provided if testing is not completed or passed.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- COVID vaccination series preferred but not mandatory.
