Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Work every other week (EOW) with Labor Day weekend required (Sept 5 and 6)
• Must work 50% of holidays and be willing to float to other units
• Patient ratio approximately 1:5-6
• Requires Telemetry (Tele) experience
• No local candidates within 50 miles accepted
• Active role requiring ambulation, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
• Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses
• Facility operates 24/7, requiring rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather
• Must be able to:

  • Work full contract term at assigned location
  • Work substantial portion of assigned shifts
  • Take call as needed
  • Work assigned weekends and at least 50% of holidays

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Telemetry experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)

Certifications

• ACLS required for Telemetry RNs
• BLS required for all RNs
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required for Emergency Room RNs starting 11/5/2024 (check if applicable)
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, CPI) as applicable to specialty or unit (not required for this Telemetry role unless specified)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, initiated within 48 hours of signing
• Fit mask test valid within 1 year (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, 9205) required
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
• Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray and INH treatment documentation if positive TB history
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required; no declinations accepted, medical exemptions require facility approval
• Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required; declinations no longer accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted, medical exemptions require facility approval
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

• Resume with minimum 7 years employment history or from completion of education with no gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references from the last 2 years
• Photo for badge (new candidates only)
• Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreement, new hire packet, and employment eligibility verification within 60 days of start
• Ability to work holidays, weekends, and take call as required

• Active position requiring physical stamina and ability to move patients and equipment
• Exposure to contagious diseases and working in a 24/7 healthcare environment
• Must be flexible with rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and inclement weather conditions
