ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Big Spring, Texas

Position Details

• Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
• Location: Big Spring, Texas
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, alternating schedule of 3 or 4 shifts per week (12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Unit: General ICU (5 beds)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (required for ICU)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – preferred; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – preferred; required for ER, ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments
• Other certifications as applicable (e.g., NRP, CHEMO, ENPC, EFM) may be required based on assignment specifics

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

• Legal name must match exactly on all license documentation, IDs, social security card, and certifications; proof of name change alone is insufficient
• Clear, passport-style photo with solid background required for badge
• Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start, including:

  • Non-Employee Information Form
  • Vaccine Exemption Form (if applicable)
  • Applicant Health Record Form
  • Code of Conduct and Compliance Form
  • Compact/Temporary License Declaration of Residency Form
  • Confidentiality Statement Form
  • Information System Security Agreement Form
  • Non-Employee Orientation Update Form
  • Traveler Orientation
  • Hepatitis B Declination (if no positive titer on file)
• Two professional references within the last 3 years required
• Resume or employment application copy required
• Skills checklist updated annually

Work Environment

• General ICU setting with 5 beds
• Alternating 36/48 hour schedule (3 or 4 night shifts per week)
