Case Manager (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract

Location: Los Angeles, California
Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30), various days of the week
Hours per week: 40 hours

Job Summary

• Position involves care coordination and case management.
• Recent experience in case management is required.
• Experience in Medicine and Emergency Department (ED) preferred.
• Floating between units is not required.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Dress code: Business casual; no scrubs required.
• Weekend work required as per unit needs.
• On-call is not required.
• First-time travel nurses are accepted if experience requirements are met.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum 3 years of Acute Care Case Management experience, including experience within the last year.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified.
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required.

Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, or others may be required depending on unit assignment but are not specified as mandatory for this role.

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Current and valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID.
• Background check within 30 days of start including:

  • Social Security Trace
  • 7-year National Criminal History Search (County searches)
  • National Sex Offender Search
  • FACIS level 3 search (includes OFAC)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG searches required within 30 days of start and annually.
• Education verification required (diploma or official transcripts).
• NURSYS verification of RN license within 30 days of start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Negative TB test (QGold) within 1 year of start; chest X-ray if indicated.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or completed vaccine series)
  • Varicella
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination within past year.
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) or signed declination.
• COVID-19 vaccine dose received on or after 9/12/2023 or signed declination.

Documentation & Onboarding

• Two professional references required (supervisor level or above), one within the last year.
• Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
• Work history verification for last 5 years.
• Skills checklist required.
• Facility-specific documents to be completed prior to start, including:

  • HIPAA training and acknowledgment
  • Confidentiality agreement
  • Child, elder, and domestic abuse reporting acknowledgments
  • Annual education and OSHA training modules
  • Photo for badge (submitted within 72 hours of signing)
  • Access request forms (not required for RNs)
  • Facility-specific training modules and agreements as applicable

Additional Notes

• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted if experience criteria are met.
• No floating or on-call duties required.
• Business casual attire expected; no scrubs required.
• Epic charting system used.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with case management background seeking a travel contract in a major California medical center.
