Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Salem, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day shift, 4 x 10 hour shifts (variable start times: 07:00-17:30, 09:00-19:30, 11:00-21:30)
- Weekday scheduled shifts: 10 hours with variable days/start times
- Weekday night call shifts: 8 hours (23:00-07:00)
- Weekend scheduled and call shifts: 10-12 hours
- 5-6 shifts of call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule
Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travelers allowed)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA only, RQI acceptable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred (AHA only)
- Skills: Telemetry skills required for all RNs regardless of unit
- Licensure: Valid RN license for Oregon required; NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
- Competency Exams:
- Competency exam with 80% passing score
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (passing score 85%) preferred for Med Surg/Tele units
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
- International background check if applicable
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (can start with physical pending)
- Fit mask testing onsite within first week of start (not required for some roles)
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Flu seasonal vaccination (year-round, updated annually)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (antibody titers or vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, 3-dose series, or declination)
- Varicella (antibody titer or vaccines)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Drug testing (10 panel) within 90 days of start
Additional Information
- Work Schedule: Variable shifts with weekday and weekend call requirements
- Documentation:
- Clear copy of driver's license or passport/state ID required
- Proof of name change if applicable
- Education verification release/consent required for some non-licensed roles
- References: 2 references within last 2 years showing 1 year in comparable specialty; at least one supervisory reference within last 12 months
- Facility Specific:
- Badge photo required at least 8 days prior to start (white background)
- Completion of required HealthStream modules by due date
- TB history screening form required prior to start
- Job description must be signed prior to start
This position offers a dynamic schedule with a mix of day shifts and call responsibilities in a hospital operating room setting. It is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience in the specialty and who hold current BLS certification, with ACLS preferred. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
