Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse

Location: Bellevue, Washington

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Specialty Details

• Medical Telemetry Oncology Unit
• Telemetry certified RN with experience administering Chemotherapies
• Experience with Trauma Level 1 and Level 2 patients
• Experience with Cardiac GTTs (limited titration) and Nurse Telemetry Driven Protocols
• Exposure to Cardiac Interventional procedures including TAVR, Mitral Clips, Watchman, Lead Extraction TR Bands, complex PCI Angiogram, Dysrhythmias, Vascular procedures, Hemodialysis (administered in room), Chemotherapy infusions, and pre-open heart care

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
• Minimum 3 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• Oncology experience
• Experience working with Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma patients
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications & Licenses

• Chemo Certification preferred
• Telemetry certification required
• Additional preferred certifications:

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred for ER RNs
  • NIH Stroke Certification required for CCU, Float Pool, and ED RNs
• IV Therapy certification will be completed onsite if needed

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
• Competency Exam with minimum score of 85%
• Patient Restraints Competency Exam (required for all except SPTs)
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) annually with minimum score of 85%
• OSHA Mandatory training annually with minimum score of 85%
• IV Therapy / Infusion Exam (for RNs working in Infusion/IV Therapy)

Additional Requirements

• No block schedule requests
• Maximum 5 days return to offer (RTO) to be considered
• Background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, statewide, federal, nationwide, sex offender, and international searches if applicable
• Government issued photo ID required
• Social Security number required (no actual card needed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Immunizations and titers required or declinations accepted for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly preferred)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs)
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required year-round
• References: Minimum two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including evaluation of clinical competency and reliability (manager, supervisor, or charge RN accepted)

• Washington State-specific background checks including WSP/WATCH and WA Courts Search

Facility Orientation & Compliance

• Candidates will be assigned modules to complete after orientation; must be completed ASAP
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Applicant Disclosure Statement, Confidentiality Policy, Appearance and Dress Code, Internet Usage Agreement
• CMS Fraud, Waste, Abuse (FWA) training required annually

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with oncology and cardiac intervention experience who have prior travel contract experience and meet the required certifications and competencies.
