X-Ray Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: West Islip, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Evening (4 days per week, 10-hour shifts)
• Weekly Hours: 40
• Schedule:

  • Week 1: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (2 PM - 12 AM)
  • Week 2: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday (2 PM - 12 AM)
• Position requires heavy OR work; candidate must be willing to spend the majority of the assignment in the OR.
• ASAP start

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technician license in New York
• ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R) certification
• Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technician experience
• Radiology Technician experience within the last year
• Experience in an acute care setting
• X-Ray Technician experience

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only, required for all RN positions (verify if applicable)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - required for ER RN positions (verify if applicable)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check completed within 30 days of start, updated annually, including:

  • Social Security Trace
  • County Search
  • National Sex Offender Registry
  • National Criminal Background
  • FACIS Level 3
  • OFAC
  • OMIG (NY Medicaid Exclusions)
  • OIG and SAM
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification via diploma or transcript acceptable
• New York State Medicaid Exclusion List check updated annually

Health and Safety Requirements

• Facility-specific physical exam form required, completed by a physician within 30 days prior to start, including medical history and physical exam with clinician’s signature
• Fit test for N95 mask (Halyard Fluidshield or 3M 1860) within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or PPD) within 1 year of start; if positive, clear chest x-ray within past 12 months required
• Immunizations or positive IgG titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B antibody and antigen results required; proof of vaccination series alone is insufficient
• Seasonal flu vaccination required October 1 - April 30; declinations allowed for religious or medical reasons
• COVID vaccine series preferred
• Standard 9-panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; rapid drug tests not accepted

Documentation and Other Requirements

• Driver’s license or state ID with clear picture and address required
• Two clinical references required, must be supervisor level or above (charge RNs acceptable)
• Employment application covering 7 years with explanations for any gaps, including current valid contact information
• Skills checklist current within the last year and applicable to the position
• Acceptable documentation for education and licensure must be provided prior to start
• Candidate must provide interview availability in Eastern Standard Time for the next two business days before submission

• State license hits will result in automatic cancellation
• Physical exam cannot be completed onsite and must use the facility-specific form
