Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Wisconsin, Marshfield

Job Details

• Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Primarily day shift (0700-1530 or 1730 or 1930)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours
• Scheduling:

  • One week of PM shifts (1500-2330) approximately every 5 weeks (8-hour shifts, Mon-Fri)
  • Night shifts (2300-0700) possible with prior experience at the facility
  • Option between 8-hour or 10-hour shifts; 12-hour shifts may be available on subsequent contracts depending on staffing
• Call Requirements:

  • 1-2 weeknights per week (end of shift to 0700)
  • Approximately 1 weekend every 5-6 weekends
  • At least 1 holiday per year
  • Call response time: 30 minutes for Call Team 1; 45 minutes for Call Teams 2-4
• Floating: Required to float to the Outpatient Surgery Center across campus

Clinical Responsibilities

• Circulate cases in multiple surgical specialties including:

  • General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular (bowel resections, laparoscopic, daVinci Xi, open & scope urology, bariatrics, c-sections, lap appy, lap chole)
  • Orthopedics (total joints with/without MAKO robot, arthroscopy, trauma)
  • Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics (trach, ENT procedures, plastics, breast reductions, spine fusions, laminectomy, crani, facial fractures, laryngoscopy/bronchoscopy, neck dissections)
  • Cardiovascular-Peripheral Vascular coverage
• Scrubbing is not required for RNs
• Always staffed with a minimum of one RN and one surgical tech 24/7/365
• Use of Cerner EMR system

Orientation & Training

• Department-specific orientation includes 2-3 days with an educator plus computer-based trainings (CBTs)
• 1-2 weeks of supervised cases to learn flow and unfamiliar procedures

Work Environment & Other Details

• 16 operating suites with an average of 28 cases per day
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs provided at no cost
• Must clock in and out at the facility
• Prior employment with this facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Current RN license in Wisconsin
• ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification

Additional Notes

• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility may have adjusted client rates (not included here)
• Charge nurse and house supervisor roles are staffed separately; always a charge RN present in the OR
