Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Department: Respiratory Services, Adult Service Line
• Facility Size: 850 beds
• Staff: 120 total respiratory therapists

  • Day Shift: 17-20 RRTs
  • Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs
• Patient Ratios: 10-25 patients per therapist
• Equipment Used:

  • GE R860 Adult ventilators
  • Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
  • Newport HT70 transport ventilator
  • Hamilton C1 ventilator
  • Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
• Floating Areas: All Critical Care units and floors
• Dress Code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
• Weekend Requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Typical Responsibilities

• Perform all respiratory therapy tasks and functions across adult critical care units
• Work with a variety of ventilators and respiratory equipment
• Provide care in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Must hold a current North Carolina RRT license
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (NRP and ACCS preferred)
• Comfortable working varied weekend shifts
• Able to float to all critical care units and floors
