Travel RN - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III Trauma Center with cases up to Trauma Level I and II flown in
• 198-bed hospital serving the Four Corners region (NM, AZ, CO, UT)
• Services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, cancer, nephrology, pediatrics, behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
• Surgical Inpatient Unit (3rd floor) with 24 beds
• Patient population: Adults (18-100+)
• Patient ratio: 1:6 max with frequent admits and discharges
• EHR system: Cerner
• Equipment: IV pumps, vital signs monitors

Position Details

• Role: RN / Charge Nurse
• Specialty: Ortho / Neuro Surgery, with Medical / Nephrology as needed
• Shift: Nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: At least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Call: None
• Float: May float to Medical, Nephrology, Inpatient Rehab, Cardiology (lower acuity), Med/Surg, and Pediatrics (adult patients only)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of orthopedics experience, including experience within the last year
• Neurosurgery experience
• Experience in charge nurse roles
• BLS certification required
• Experience with post-operative patient care including:

  • Orthopedics and abdominal surgeries
  • Management of NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheters, and TURPs
  • Pain management

• Team-oriented attitude and adherence to all facility policies and guidelines expected
• No prior travel experience explicitly required
