Position Details

Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 17
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Staffing: Unit secretaries and tech availability; Patient Care Technicians (PCT) cover above 10 patients
- Documentation System: Epic
- Scheduling Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per schedule
- Floating Policy: May float to like units (med/surg level of care)
- Patient Population: Med/Surg, high focus on post-surgical and general surgery patients
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Required Skills & Experience
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Med/Surg nursing
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- Licenses: Registered Nurse License
- Clinical Skills:
- Med/Surg experience required
- Experience with NG-tube care
- Central line care
Additional Information
- Advanced skills and procedures relevant to the unit are expected.
- The unit emphasizes a high standard of patient care for post-surgical and general surgery patients.
- Floating to similar med/surg units may be required.
