Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health (Evenings)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evenings
Hours per Day: 8 (opportunity for additional shifts up to 48 hours per week, not guaranteed)

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care based on the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to coordinate care for individuals and groups.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families, including discharge and aftercare planning.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in individual and group settings.
• Document and report all necessary information according to policies and procedures.
• Monitor and report any potential safety risks to physicians.
• Function as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
• May serve as charge nurse and be involved in scheduling, staffing, and training direct care staff.
• Uphold professional standards, promote compassionate, patient-centered care, and model organizational values including integrity, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Support a recovery-focused environment and person-centered approach in community residential settings.
• Maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Michigan.
• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience.
• Pediatric experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care and excellent customer service.
