Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist - Oncology (Days)

Job Description

As a Radiation Therapist, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing and managing patient care through the nursing process. The role involves working with advanced radiation therapy equipment and delivering various types of treatments.

Work Schedule & Hours

• 36-40 hours per week, with billable overtime after 40 hours
• Required to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• Limited time off allowed during late November and late December holiday periods

Unit Information

• Equipment used: TrueBeam, Halcyon, TrueBeam Edge
• Patient volume: Approximately 80 patients per day
• Treatment types: SRS, SRT, SBRT, VMAT, 3D, Electrons, HyperArc (no total skin or total body treatments)
• Team includes 4 radiation oncologists, 3 physicists, and 5 dosimetrists
• Scrub color: Black

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• Iowa State Radiation Oncology license (required)
• ARRT certification with "T - radiation therapy" discipline listed (required)
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• Valid Driver’s License (required)

Experience

• Minimum of 24 months (2 years) of recent/current Radiation Therapy experience (required)
• EPIC EMR experience (required)
• Experience with ARIA/Eclipse systems (highly preferred)
• Experience with TrueBeam, Halcyon, TrueBeam Edge equipment (highly preferred)

Additional Requirements

• Skills checklist specific to Radiation Therapy discipline (required)
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months (preferred)
• Prior travel experience is highly preferred but not explicitly required

Notes

• Local candidates within 50 miles are preferred
• Orientation dates available in early March
• The facility is recognized for quality cancer care and uses a multidisciplinary approach with access to advanced technology and clinical trials
