Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (LTC) - Travel/Contract
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Description
- Transitional Care Unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:7-8
- Float required
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or two per month
- Travelers requesting time off during holidays (Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day) will not be accommodated
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Tennessee RN license (Compact or Single State)
- Experience: No explicit years stated; default to standard LTC RN experience (recommend minimum 1+ year in specialty)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - must be current and uploaded as actual certificate (no photos/screenshots)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification) - required for all RN candidates, actual certificate required
- Competencies:
- Must pass Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam within 12 months prior to start (score 80% or higher) — Note: Transitional Care Unit exempt from this requirement
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
- Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) with minimum 80% pass rate, updated annually
- Color Blind Testing within 12 months prior to start (Ishihara test or equivalent)
- Other:
- Must be able to pass EKG testing before start date (applies to all Medsurg nurses)

Health & Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA (fit for duty)
- Negative TB test (QGold or Skin Test) within 1 year; T-spots not accepted
- Drug testing within 45 days of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, opiates, etc.) with MRO signature
- Flu vaccine required for starts on or after 9/8/2025 (no declinations accepted; exemptions only for medical/religious reasons with agency approval)
- Immunizations/vaccinations required: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Background check within 45 days of start, including 7-year history, SSN trace, sex offender registry, criminal checks, and alias name attestation if applicable
- Two supervisory references from past 3 years required
- Employment application with 7-year work history, no unexplained gaps over 30 days, and active nursing license details

- Photo for badge required (passport style, solid background, no filters or facial piercings)
- Travelers must comply with facility-specific onboarding and attestation documents
- Skills checklist for unit-specific competencies required within the last year, updated annually
