Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Burlington, Vermont
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Setting: Inpatient, Adult ICU and general pediatric experience required (no NICU or PICU)
• Schedule: Weekends as needed, no call, schedule flexibility is a must
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Must have experience with many RT-driven protocols
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable

Requirements

Licensure & Certifications

• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) not accepted
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the specialty
• Prior travel experience preferred (not required)

Additional Requirements

• Teaching hospital experience required
• All specialties worked must be well documented on each employment entry
• Reliable transportation required (public transportation not accessible)
• Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November to April

Orientation & Scheduling

• Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
• No block schedules allowed
• Monday to Sunday work schedule

Compliance & Documentation

Background Checks & Verifications

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification based on highest degree
• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required for Home Health and Hospice specialties
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration

Health & Safety

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• N95 Fit Test required prior to assignment and updated annually
• Required vaccinations or documentation:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray if positive
  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or exemption (medical/religious) required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination required
  • Pneumonia vaccine or declination required if assigned to NY facility

Competencies & Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as required
• Color blind testing required
• Skills checklist within 12 months
• Work history verification for last 2 years
• References: 2 professional references from assignments within 3 years

Facility Specific Requirements

• Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background) required two weeks prior to start
• Auto insurance required for Home Health and Hospice specialties
• Various facility policies and consent forms must be reviewed and completed prior to start
• COVID testing protocol on Day 1 of work (if required)

Notes

• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Complete and accurate work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type is mandatory for submission
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended due to lack of public transportation

This position is ideal for RRTs with at least 1 year of experience, teaching hospital background, and recent Epic EMR proficiency, seeking a flexible weekend travel contract in Vermont.
