Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday) and every other holiday
- Unit: Postpartum/Antepartum with float required within skill set including NICU to care for level II nursery patients
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic required
- License: VA license pending submissions accepted
- Time Off: Can approve 40 hours of RTO (Requested Time Off)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM) – verify with recruiter or facility

Job Responsibilities
- Clinical review and auto offer process
- Float between Postpartum/Antepartum and NICU level II nursery patients
Compliance & Documentation Requirements

- Education verification (BSN preferred; ASN required if no BSN)
- State license primary source verification
- NURSYS verification for RN licenses
- Drug testing (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl) within 2 months of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold acceptable)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (positive required or follow-up antigen titer)
- Varicella vaccination or titer (declination accepted but required)
- Flu vaccination (seasonal, no exemptions accepted)
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
- Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and Mother-Baby units
- Professional appearance guidelines and compliance documents to be reviewed and acknowledged prior to start
Additional Notes
- Float pool responsibilities require flexibility within postpartum, antepartum, and NICU level II nursery care
- Epic EMR experience is mandatory
- Facility may require additional unit-specific certifications or training after start
- Some behavioral health or specialized units may require additional background checks or fingerprinting
