Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Seattle, Washington
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• First-time travelers accepted
• May float to postpartum, antepartum, and sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Pre-approved time off is reviewed case by case

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 3 years of Registered Nurse experience
• Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• 2 years of experience in high acuity and high pace environments
• Experience working with High Risk patients
• Ability to circulate in the operating room
• Baby nurse duties during delivery and newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Newborn care skills including eye care, Vitamin K injections, thigh assessment, and newborn assessment
• Antepartum experience
• Post Partum experience
• Nursery experience
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring

Certifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

Unit Details

• High-risk, high-volume labor and delivery unit
• Handles all types of labor and delivery cases
• 4 operating rooms
• Average daily census: 15
• Approximately 500–600 deliveries per month
• 31 rooms and 31 beds
• Uses electronic fetal monitoring
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Common patient populations include midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services, and community care clinic patients

Additional Notes

• EPIC familiarity is required
• Must have proof of required certifications with submission
• Must be able to work with heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
