Labor and Delivery RN

Assignment Details

• Travel/Contract role in Seattle, Washington
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 48 hours per week
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• 1st timers accepted
• Locals at same rate
• Pre-approved time off is case by case
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed

Unit / Setting

• High Risk / High Volume L&D
• 4 ORs
• 31 rooms
• 31 beds
• Avg daily census: 15/day
• 500–600 deliveries/month
• May float to Post partum / Antepartum and to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• High-risk labor and delivery experience
• Experience circulating for cesarean sections
• Ability to interpret fetal heart rate strips
• Experience with newborn assessment and care including eye care and vitamin K injections
• Experience administering Magnesium Sulfate
• Experience administering Heparin
• Experience administering Insulin
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

Clinical Notes

• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Provides newborn care including eyes, thighs, assessment, and Vit K injections
• Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate are part of the unit’s care context
