Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in Muncie, Indiana
13-week assignment
Day shift: 4x12 hours, 11:00–23:30
First-time travelers accepted
Must be willing to work charge
Floating is required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
Indiana residents are not accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Indiana
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ED - Emergency Department (3 years of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
Experience in Charge roles
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association
Interpretation of dysrhythmias
Management of dysrhythmias
Continuous IV sedation
IV vasopressors
Procedural sedation administration
CPAP/BiPAP
Ventilated patients care

Preferred Qualifications

NIH Stroke Certification
TNCC

Clinical Skills / Experience

General emergency department experience with adult and pediatric patients
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Phlebotomy
Starting IVs
Continuous IV sedation
IV vasopressors
Procedural sedation administration
CPAP/BiPAP
Ventilated patients
Isolation precautions

Unit Details

Trauma center
48 beds, flexing up to 62 with hall beds if needed
Regular ED staffing ratio does not exceed 1:4
Hold assignments may include 4:1 for progressive holds and 5:1 for medical holds
Average of 6.6 behavioral health patients per day

Facility-specific onboarding, health screening, background check, and competency documentation are required before start
