Respiratory Therapist, NICU

Job Overview

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
Weekly hours: 36
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: May float between pediatric units and NICU, and may also float to adult units on the main campus
First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NBRC
Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
1.5+ years of PICU/NICU experience
Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience

Clinical Focus

Neonatal critical care and pediatrics

Common Duties / Procedures

Blood gas collection
Vent, BiPAP, and high-flow initiation and management
Code response
In-house transport
Medication administration
Chest physiotherapy

Equipment Experience

Servo I & U
V60 BiPAP

Additional Notes

EPIC charting is used
Time off must be submitted with the application and approved before an offer is made
