Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General
Location: Kennewick, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Shift: Day (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) or Night (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Job Details
- Position does not float between units.
- No on-call required.
- Weekend work required every other weekend.
- No block schedules.
- Expected patient ratio: 16-bed Emergency Room.
- 48-hour shifts are not approved.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Recent experience working as an Ultrasound Technologist within the last year.
- Experience working with Infant, Neonate, or Pediatric patients.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 and state-specific searches).
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
- State-specific searches for Washington and border states required.
- WA State Patrol Search required within 90 days of start and updated every 2 years for certain facility types.
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment.
- Work history verification required if exceptions to references are requested.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates (valid within 1 year), updated annually.
- Immunizations and documentation required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted.
- Hepatitis B: vaccination series or signed declination; specific rules for Alaska placements.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
Competency & Training
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required as applicable by specialty.
- Color Blind Testing may be required on a unit basis.
- EFM training or certification required for Labor & Delivery RNs if applicable.
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS.
- Epic system training modules required for applicable hospital systems.
Additional Notes
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
- Oregon Neglect Abuse Consent Form and Search required only for specific facilities (not applicable here).
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to nearby facilities.
- Drug screen: 9-panel within 12 months of start; instants acceptable.
- No 48-hour shifts approved.
- Weekend work every other weekend required.
