Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Endoscopy
- Shift: Day shift, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (5 days a week, 40 hours/week)
- Patient Ratios:
- Procedure suite: 1:1
- Pre-op and Discharge: up to 4:1
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- On-call: Yes
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to similar units, but unlikely
- Travel Radius: Must stay within 30 minutes of the facility to respond to calls as expected

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience, with Endoscopy experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Initial and annual physical exam confirming ability to meet job demands, within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; low titers require boosters
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
- TB Testing: Negative T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days of start; if positive, chest x-ray and annual questionnaire required
- Drug Screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but declinations are not
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
- Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required via RespSafety virtual questionnaire
Documentation and Onboarding
- Photo for Badge: Clear, passport-style color photo with solid light background, frontal view, cropped from shoulders up
- Facility Specific Documents:
- Job description signed prior to start
- Confidentiality and security agreement
- Contractor forms and employee info forms
- Orientation modules (approx. 2 hours, must be completed before orientation)
- First Day Instructions and OurDay modules must be completed before start; failure to complete results in being sent home
- Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholders if verification is pending
- Licensure Verification: Primary source verification required; NURSYS verification for RN license
- Radiation Badge: Not required for Endoscopy RN

- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; guaranteed hours are not absolute
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed

- During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; candidates should consider this before accepting new assignments during this period
