Job Description

• Work primarily in Post Cardiac Surgery and Post Vascular Surgery units. Strong cardiac and post-op heart experience is required.
• Staffing ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5 depending on patient acuity.
• Travelers are expected to work every other weekend; consecutive weekends may be required based on operational needs.
• Call-in shifts must be made up during the pay period if working 0.9 FTE; otherwise, call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract. For 1.2 FTE, call-in shifts are added to the end of the contract.
• Unit travelers may be required to float to different levels of care including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU. Refusal to float may result in contract termination. Training and resources will be provided.
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be required depending on operational needs, with training and resources provided.
• First-time travelers are accepted; local candidates are not accepted.
• COVID-19 vaccine is mandatory for all travelers with medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation.
• Indiana RNs are generally not allowed to work past 11/30/2024 except for Perioperative/OR, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (including ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Telemetry experience.
• Proficient in titrating cardiac drips.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
