Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Shift: Evening, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (4 shifts per week, 8 hours each; total 32 hours/week)
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
• Call Requirement: None
• Float Requirement: None
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Unit Systems: Omnicell, Meditech Expanse
• Orientation: 16 hours (either 2 eight-hour shifts or 2 twelve-hour shifts with a preceptor)
• Scrubs: Any color

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg / Telemetry
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• Prior traveler experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually (includes aliases, counties, national, sex offender, education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification or official transcript accepted
• Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance within 30 days of start
• Photo for badge (passport-style, light background, neck up, facing forward)
• Completion and signing of facility-specific agreements and policies (confidentiality, corporate compliance, CARE values, emergency contact, personal appearance, communication device policy, standards of behavior, vehicle registration, policy acknowledgements)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year (acceptable masks: 1870+, 1860, 1860S); onsite fit testing available if needed
• Adult dose of Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray with TB questionnaire (annual questionnaire accepted in lieu of test)
• Immunity or vaccination documentation for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or completed series; if incomplete, must start series with documentation)
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 booster documentation or signed declination

Additional Notes

• Candidates must upload required compliance documents and complete a TB survey in the facility’s compliance portal prior to start
• Documentation must include name and date of birth on all immunization and test records
• References are not required by the facility but should be collected per standard practice
• Annual skills checklist required

This position is ideal for experienced travel Registered Nurses with prior travel assignments who are comfortable working evening shifts in a telemetry setting with a 1:5 patient ratio.
