Shift Details

• Night shift
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
• Shift hours: 17:30 to 6:00

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Float between NICU, Pediatric acute care, and Adult acute care units
• Respiratory care duties include:

  • Airway management
  • Medication administration
  • Ventilator management
  • Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Suctioning
  • Pulmonary toileting
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • BiPAP and CPAP management
• Work settings may include trauma, teaching hospital, and emergency room environments (preferred)
• Preferred experience with bronchoscopes, Cerner documentation system, and equipment such as Hamilton G5 and Philips V60 ventilators

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
• Background checks including 7 years of residence/work history, criminal, sex offender, and education verification
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
• Physical exam within 12 months of start date
• Fit mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tuberculosis test (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap strongly recommended
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for the flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology test and unit competency exam
• Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment with appropriate supervisory titles
• Current employment application with explanation of any gaps over 30 days in the last 7 years
• Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter

Additional Notes

• Shift pattern is 4x12s every other week including holidays
• HIPAA and facility-specific compliance forms must be completed prior to start
• On-site fit testing available only with prior approval; otherwise, documentation of fit test must be provided
• Candidates must be agreeable to floating between multiple care units as required

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with NICU and acute care skills who are flexible and able to work night shifts in a travel contract role.
