Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Shift: Rotating (typically 3 weeks days / 3 weeks nights)
Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks out (based on compliance tier)

Specialty & Experience

- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias (must pass Relias EKG exam)
- Arterial Line, Central Line, PICC line management
- ICU experience with trauma patients preferred
- Experience in a Level I, Teaching facility preferred
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for candidates extending past 9 months in Burn ICU
- Other unit-specific certifications may apply
Licensure
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Missouri
- Primary source verification required (NURSYS)
- Pending licenses accepted
Compliance & Background Checks
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide and nationwide)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required quarterly
- Education verification required (highest nursing education)
- State-specific searches and registries as applicable
- Fingerprinting required for certain Illinois long-term care or rehab assignments
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test (N95 respirator) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required or declination forms for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- TB testing (2 negative PPDs or equivalent)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must remain valid throughout assignment
Additional Requirements
- Must complete unit-specific competency exams annually, including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
- Must complete facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) via online platform prior to start
- Must comply with facility policies including hand hygiene, dress code, fingernail policy, and confidentiality agreements
- References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
- Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, including EKG interpretation

Notes
- No more than 7 days of Return to Office (RTO) allowed per 13-week contract
- Candidates must be able to pass all required competency exams and certifications prior to or shortly after start
- Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs
