Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Job Description

• Work schedule: 5x8 hour shifts with rotating weekends and on-call duties.
• Must have experience in both echocardiography (echo) and vascular ultrasound.
• Facility strongly prefers candidates registered in both adult echo (ARDMS with RDCS or RCS) and vascular (RVT or RVS) credentials, but may consider candidates with echo registry and vascular experience.
• Pediatric experience is a bonus and pediatric scans will be required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
• Experience performing echocardiography (echo) studies.
• Experience performing vascular ultrasound studies.
• Experience performing pediatric scans; pediatric scanning is required.
• Experience as a Vascular Sonographer.

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• ACLS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
• BLS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
• PALS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as applicable
• Chemotherapy certification as applicable
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) as applicable
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) as applicable
• Other certifications may be required based on facility policies.

Background & Screening Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; must be updated annually.
• Various federal and state background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start.
• Education verification (highest level) required.
• State-specific employment and misconduct registry checks required within 30 days of start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Fit mask testing (3M 1860 Regular or 3M 1860S) required and must be updated annually.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella) with time-sensitive completion within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); religious or medical exemptions accepted.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed.

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references within 3 years of start.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
• Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
• Various competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Candidates should be prepared for pediatric scanning duties.
• Facility orientation and parking provided; orientation modules take approximately 3-4 hours.

This position is ideal for experienced Echo Techs/Cardiac Sonographers with strong credentials in both echo and vascular ultrasound, who are flexible with rotating weekends and on-call shifts, and who meet comprehensive health and compliance requirements.
