Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) with holiday rotation
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: No
• Floating: Must be able to float within scope to all hospital areas, including labor and delivery
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• First-timers: Not accepted (must have prior experience)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Current certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential
• Experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work within a 60-mile radius of the job location
• No local candidates accepted
• Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• No block scheduling accommodations available

Important Notes

• During hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. Travelers should consider this before accepting assignments during this period.
• Floating includes coverage in labor and delivery areas.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of work eligibility (I-9 attestation and documentation)
• Copy of Driver’s License/State ID
• Social Security Card or equivalent documentation
• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including international searches
• Education verification or diploma/transcripts as applicable
• Drug screening (10-panel urine test within 90 days of start)
• Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
• Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug-April)
• COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
• Respirator clearance annually via virtual questionnaire
• Proof of 2 clinical references and recent performance evaluation (within 12 months)
• Employment history verification for last 3 clinical employers (exceptions apply)

Orientation and Facility Specifics

• Completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
• Submission of a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
• Signing of assignment acknowledgment, confidentiality agreements, code of conduct, and other facility-required documents prior to start
• Access to electronic charting system (Epic)
• Free parking available
