Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Waupun, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a small critical care access hospital with approximately 10-15 births per month.
• Provide care in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units.
• Must be proficient in labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Skills required include: antepartum, postpartum, IV therapy, electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), medication administration, newborn care, pain management, phlebotomy, vaccine administration, cesarean section assistance, and managing multiple births.
• Schedule: Night shift, every third weekend required. Shift hours are 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each).
• Scrubs provided.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Proficiency in labor care, electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), phlebotomy, cesarean section assistance, and managing multiple births
• Postpartum care experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Certifications & Compliance

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on unit specifics.
• Must complete OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to start for fit testing onsite.
• Fit testing will be completed during the first week of orientation; candidate must provide fit test documentation to the agency.
• Negative drug screen within 12 months of start required.
• Required immunizations and health screenings include:

  • TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months.
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (must be renewed annually).
  • COVID vaccine series preferred.
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity documentation or vaccination.
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination (for new candidates).
• Background check within 12 months required, including SSN trace, 7-year county residency/work history, nationwide search, and sex offender search.
• Must complete required facility-specific orientation modules and sign confidentiality and ethical conduct agreements prior to start.

Additional Requirements

• Must complete a skills checklist prior to or at start.
• Two professional references required for new candidates.
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health required for new candidates.
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background) required.
• Post-start orientation checklists must be completed during orientation and returned within the first week.

Notes

• First-time travelers are accepted; prior travel experience is not required.
• This position requires working every third weekend.
• The facility is a small hospital setting, providing a close-knit work environment with a manageable birth volume.
