Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Job Requirements

• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Wisconsin
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• Travel experience
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
• May be required to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles

Required Certifications

• NRP (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – optional

Required Health and Safety Compliance

• Fit Test (3M 1860 Regular, 3M 1860 Small, or 3M 1870+), updated annually
• MMR: documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Varicella: documented proof of two vaccines, immunity evidence, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire; if positive, chest X-ray within last year required
• Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement
• Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter

Required Documentation and Onboarding

• Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment
• Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address on file)
• Resume/Profile and at least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days prior to start
• Employment verification for past seven years
• Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
• Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment on agency letterhead
• Completion of core competencies, skills checklist, specialty exam, and education attestation as part of onboarding
• Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
• Completion of onboarding forms and attestations as required onsite

Additional Notes

• Must complete Ascension Core Competencies covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other topics with a minimum passing score
• Specialty exam must be completed prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years
• Color vision test required prior to start and updated every 3 years
• May be required to float to other sites within a 40-mile radius as needed

This position is suited for experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists with critical care background and travel experience, ready to work a night shift in a dynamic healthcare environment.
