Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units. This role involves providing direct patient care in a hospital setting with a focus on medical-surgical and telemetry nursing.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• CORE Exam completion
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Current license verification dated within 30 days of start.
• Fit test for respiratory protection.
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
• Immunizations and Health History:

  • COVID-19 vaccine with booster proof or approved exemption.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start.
  • Influenza vaccine or approved exemption (seasonal).
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
  • Tdap vaccine or approved declination if no pediatric interaction.
  • Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA).
• Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
• Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year.
• Skills checklist provided by the agency for clinical contractors.

Professional and Background Checks

• Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) within 30 days of start.
• Social Security Number verification.
• Education verification (highest level of academic education).
• Exclusion screenings including EPLS, OIG, NSO, OFAC within 30 days of start.
• Completion of confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, and patient information security agreements.
• Completion of dependent adult and child abuse training (Iowa-specific).
• Completion of system access forms and other required documentation prior to start.

Additional Information

• This position requires adherence to all hospital policies and procedures.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role.
• The assignment follows an every-other-week (EOW) schedule.
