Registered Nurse - Medicine Specialty

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Job Summary

Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtain and monitor patients’ physiological data; observe and intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications, initiate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care.
• Communicate care plans and hospital procedures to patients and families.
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.
• May be floated to any area of the hospital, including Med/Surg and Step Down units.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Med/Surg and Step Down required.
• Hours per day: 12
• Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Stepdown experience within the last year.
• Experience in Med/Surg units.

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks

• May be required to float to different hospital areas as needed.
