CVICU Registered Nurse Opportunity

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Long Term Contract (13 weeks)


Requirements

  • RN License in hand
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • NIHSS Certification

Start Date & Schedule

  • Start Date: ASAP, weekly start dates available
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Unit Details

  • 40 Bed Unit, combined with ICU but staffed separately
  • Nurse to patient ratio: 1:2
  • Tech support available

Patient Population

  • Adults and Geriatric patients

Common Diagnoses/Procedures

  1. Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
  2. Double Valve procedures
  3. CABG/valves
  4. Open Triple A's
  5. Respiratory conditions
  6. Cardiogenic shock
  7. Multisystem organ dysfunction
  8. Sepsis
  9. Renal failure with CRRT
  10. Diabetes

Skills/Equipment Experience Preferred

  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
  • Impella device
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
  • EKOS catheter
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
  • Thoracentesis
  • Paracentesis
  • Burr Holes procedures

Additional Information

  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Time off requests handled at request for off (RFO)

This role is ideal for experienced CVICU nurses comfortable with complex cardiac and critical care patients requiring advanced interventions.
