Job Opportunity: Adult Psych RN - Days

Location

• Lewiston, Maine
• Candidates must reside outside of a 50-mile radius

• Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide direct and indirect patient care on an inpatient adolescent behavioral unit (ages 6-18)
• Primary diagnoses treated: major depression and ADD/ADHD
• Administer medications and provide medication education
• Document patient care daily
• Manage and monitor patient behaviors throughout the unit
• Participate in and lead education groups
• Float to Chemical Dependency/Detox units as needed

Shift

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, daytime

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 3 years of Behavioral Health experience
• Behavioral Health experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkers
• Ability to manage stress and maintain professional boundaries in stressful situations
• Dedicated team player and self-directed, able to stay busy during downtime

Additional Information

• Previous employees and candidates with background or license issues will not be accepted
• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
• Employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract
