Role summary

• Assists during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile surgical field and providing instrumentation to the surgical team.
• Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Supports patient safety, room turnover, instrument preparation, and sterile processing tasks.

Required qualifications

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Colorado
• Surgical Technologist (1 year of experience)
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• CST or NBSTSA

Key clinical expectations

• Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique and AORN standards
• Competency or working toward competency with Tier 1 surgical cases
• Ability to maintain a safe operating room environment and monitor the sterile field
• Participation in time-out, briefings, and debriefings
• Ability to work promptly, communicate clearly, and function under stress and deadlines
