Unit Details
- Progressive Care Unit
- 15-bed unit with 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
- Typical ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU
Schedule
- Scheduled 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
- No guarantee of hours
- No call
Key Responsibilities
- Primary nursing care
- Telemetry monitoring
- Telemetry strip reading
- Fingerstick blood sugar checks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- NIHSS
Preferred Qualifications
- Progressive Care experience
- Telemetry experience
- PALS
Floating
- May float to all acute units in house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
Equipment / Systems
- Meditech charting
- Pyxis medication system
- BIPAP
- Continuous cardiac monitoring
Dress Code
- Scrubs
Start Timing Note
- Must arrive the Thursday before start for an employee health appointment on Friday
