• Day shift
• 3, 12-hour shifts per week
• Every 4th weekend
• Every other holiday rotation

Role Summary

• Provides general nursing care for Med/Surg and EICU patients
• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating patient care
• Expected to adapt to changes in assignments, patient status, and unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• 1 year of Med Surg experience

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• PALS encouraged

Key Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process throughout the patient’s hospitalization
• Develop and document individualized plans of care
• Provide care independently within unit requirements, physician orders, and policy
• Respond to life-threatening situations according to nursing standards and protocols
• Perform or assist with approved procedures and treatments
• Monitor and communicate patient condition changes
• Administer medications, including IV therapy
• Educate patients and families on care and discharge needs
• Collaborate with other health team members
• Maintain a safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Handle specimens properly

Physical Requirements

• Active role with repetitive movements
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
• Pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping
• Ability to read a computer screen, detect color-coding, and read fine print
