7E Trauma General Surg Stepdown/MedSurg RN

Overview

Role: RN (Registered Nurse)
Specialty/Unit: 7 EAST - Trauma & General Surgery Inpatient Unit
Setting: Stepdown & Floor
Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 36 per week
Shift times: 7a-7:30p; 7p-7:30a

Unit details

30 total beds: 12 Floor, 18 Stepdown
Ratios: 1:6 for Floor patients; 1:3 for Stepdown patients
The unit is also a nationally recognized Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center
Floating is required to like units (floor/stepdown)

Required Qualifications

BLS certification
Epic experience
Level 1 trauma experience
1:6 ratio experience
Experience with complex wound care, drains, devices, traumatic injuries, chest tubes, respiratory support, TBI, and complex spinal cord injuries
RN must be able to read and validate strips

Schedule Requirements

Every other weekend or 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
Holidays as needed, into the perm staff holiday schedule

Additional Notes

Monitor techs are available and will read/run/monitor strips
RT is available 24/7
Stable/chronic vents only
Charge nurse is budgeted free 24/7
Clinical Associates are used as nurse aides when fully staffed
