Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Facility & Unit Overview

Acute care hospital with 137 beds
Emergency Department with 21 beds (12 telemetry, 3 behavioral health, 5 fast track)
Patient population: all ages
Patient ratio: 1:5
Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Cerner
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
Weekend hours: every other weekend and some holidays
Call requirements: none
Float requirements: as needed

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Nursing
Required certifications prior to start:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- De-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)

Skills & Experience

Must have:
- Emergency nursing
- Trauma care
- Resuscitation
- IV therapy and IV drips
- Oxygen demand support
- Blood products administration
- Basic telemetry/EKG interpretation
Preferred:
- Emergency Medicine experience
- Psychiatric Emergency Room experience

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

COPD
Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
Sepsis
Cardiac emergencies
Neurological emergencies
Stroke

Dress code restrictions: no open-toed footwear, no spandex pants, no sweatshirts

Additional Notes

Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
Travel assignment requires candidates to be 60 miles or greater from the facility
No prior travel experience explicitly required for this role
