Travel RNFA (Operating Room) - Saint Louis, Missouri

Position Overview

• Role: RN First Assistant (RNFA) / Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
• Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
• Shift: Days, Monday to Friday, 4 x 10-hour shifts
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Call: Required (details to be discussed at interview)
• Weekends/Holidays: No weekends, no holidays, no call on these days
• Number of Openings: 3

Required Qualifications

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room)
  • CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant)
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in OR setting
• Skills:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with multiple computer systems (EMR: EPIC)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide quality care in the OR
  • Able to assist with General Surgery, Genitourinary (GU), and Orthopedic procedures
• Preferred: Experience scrubbing

Job Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures including suturing and wound closure
• Support multiple surgical specialties: General, GU, and Orthopedics
• Work collaboratively in a team environment while also functioning independently

Work Environment

• Unit: Operating Room
• Patient Type: Surgical patients
• Dress Code: Black scrubs provided by facility for OR

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Additional Information

• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions require approval)
• Opportunity to work with 7 new surgeons recently added to the staff
• Facility uses EPIC electronic medical records system
